The hourly stuff
Different machines.
The right rate.
We price the work by the kind of skill, equipment and troubleshooting it needs. A mower tune-up and an electrical gremlin are not the same job wearing different boots.
ATV / UTV / powersports
Mechanical service and repair for the machines that work hard, play hard and occasionally arrive wearing half the trail.

Compact diesel
Service and repair for compact tractors and select diesel equipment that earns its keep.

Welding & fabrication
Repair and fabrication work for the pieces that were definitely not shaped like that when they left the factory.

Diagnostics / electrical
Testing, tracing and measuring until the actual problem gives itself up. Parts darts are not a diagnostic strategy.

Mobile / off-site service
Select off-site work, arranged in advance. Two-hour minimum because the toolbox does not teleport. Yet.
$150/ hr + $1 / km
Mobile / off-site: Two-hour minimum plus $1/km. Offered only when arranged in advance. This is a service-call rate, not a pickup-and-delivery route.
When the answer is not obvious
We test first.
Then we talk.
A part is not a diagnosis. When a machine cranks, clicks, quits hot, blows a fuse, acts haunted or simply says “not today,” we use inspection, testing and experience to find the cause before selling a pile of guesses.

If you decline the repair
Diagnostic time is billed at $100 per hour. You are paying for the skilled work used to find or narrow down the problem—even if you decide the machine is not worth repairing.
If we complete the repair
We waive up to the first hour of diagnostic time for that approved repair. In other words: when we find it and fix it, the first hour of detective work is on us.
If it needs more digging
Some faults need deeper testing or teardown. We get your approval before going beyond the work or amount you authorized. No blank cheques. No surprise archaeological dig.
If the machine refuses to confess
Testing time may still be chargeable if an intermittent problem will not repeat, the repair is uneconomical or parts are unavailable. The testing still happened, even when the gremlin packed a suitcase.
The short version: decline the repair and the diagnosis is billable; approve the repair and we waive up to one diagnostic hour when D&S completes it.

Seized or broken hardware, hidden damage and extra disassembly can change the work required. We discuss additional work before proceeding.

01Why do I pay for diagnosis if I do not repair it?

Because testing, inspection and fault tracing are skilled work that produce the answer. The machine may leave unrepaired, but the technician's time, measurements and experience still happened.
02What if the problem will not happen at the shop?

Intermittent faults can take real testing time even when they refuse to perform on command. Diagnostic time may still be chargeable when a fault cannot be reproduced, a machine is uneconomical to repair or the required parts are unavailable.
03Will you keep digging forever without calling me?

No. If deeper testing, teardown or another problem would take us beyond the work or amount you authorized, we stop and contact you before proceeding.
04Are parts and HST included?

HST is extra. Package prices include only the service items specifically listed. Additional parts, fluids, supplies or repairs are extra and are discussed before extra work is performed.
